Spring Cleaning for Your Body
The Springfield Newspaper, April, 2010
As Spring moves into the area, and the sun warm us, we begin to shed our winter coats. We welcome the fresh warm air into our homes and realize the carpet needs cleaning, the woodwork has finger prints and there are cob webs in corners we didn’t know we had.
Spring is also good for clearing the unused, heavy, undigested leftovers from winter meals. The body begins to sluff-off the old layer of skin, and muscles start to be used again.
All this creates toxic matter that needs to be eliminated in order for the body to be light and fit for the summer months.
Nature supports cleansing of the body in spring. Our bodies begin to “melt down” excess material and microcirculatory channels become clogged.
If you don't assist these toxins in moving out of the body, you may begin to experience:
1. Flu-like symptoms
2. Unusual sluggishness
3. Headaches and dizziness
4. Unexplained muscle aches
These are signs that the body wants to rid itself of the toxins collected over the colder months. Spring is the best time to detoxify, because nature is already clearing the body.
Help Your Body Detoxify
Reflexology has historically been recognized as the best way to release toxins by cleansing the liver and blood, purifying the sweat glands and the organs of elimination.
By preventing the buildup of toxins in the fat and muscle tissues, you pave the way for more energy, health and vitality.
Other ways to assist the process is to avoid eating heavy, hard-to-digest foods. Eating sweet juicy fruits can help cleanse the body. And be sure to get enough sleep at night.
This spring, detox your body to feel better, naturally.
